The staff of the Capitan Public Library will not
monitor or censure materials accessed from the
Internet by our patrons. However, since the library
is a public place which serves patrons of all ages,
we insist that you DO NOT access sites that
are illegal or contain pirated information,
sexually suggestive or violent information or
specifically graphic images. If it is noticed that
you are accessing these types of materials, you
will be asked to get out of that site. If you
continue to access these types of materials, you
will lose your computer privileges.
Age Limit
1. Anyone under 18 years of age must have a
parent/guardian signature.
2. Children under the age of 8 may not be left
unattended at a computer.
Sign-Up
1. A Computer & Internet Policy form must be
read and signed before you can use the computers.
This form is available at the library.
2. You must sign up at the desk before accessing
the computer.
3. No more than two people at a computer at one
time.
4. Time limit is 45 minutes per patron per day. If
you have a research project, additional time may be
allowed at staff discretion.
5. If you reserve a time slot, you must be present
at that time or risk losing your place.
6. If you are a new computer user, the staff will
give you some brief instructions to get you
started.
Use
1. No food or drink are allowed in the library,
including the computer work station area.
2. Computer disks may be purchased for $1.
3. Any damage to hardware, keyboard, etc., will
result in charges assessed to pay for the
damage.
4. All computers are subject to inspection after
each use.
5. Information may be printed at the cost of 25
cents per page. You must use the paper provided by
the library - do not bring your own.
6. Chat rooms and other interactive talk
programs have not been disallowed. However, if it
becomes a problem, they will be prohibited.
