Follow this quick step-by-step guide for absentee voting:

Step 1: Request your ballot by completing an application form

  • APPLY ONLINE! – This is the fastest and easiest way to request your absentee ballot.

  • APPLY WITH YOUR COUNTY CLERK - You can ask your clerk for a paper form in person, by mail, phone, or email. 

  • DEADLINE: The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is October 20, 2020.

Step 2: Return your application -- All absentee ballot requests will be accepted until 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. (All online applications must be submitted by this time, and all paper applications must be received by the county clerk by this time.)

Step 3: Receive your ballot in the mail and complete it  --  You will receive your official absentee ballot in the mail.  Ballots will be mailed starting on October 6.  Follow the instructions carefully so your vote counts.

 Step 4: Return your absentee ballot –

You can mail to your County Clerk's office OR  You can IN-PERSON drop it off at the County Clerk’s Office or any Early or Election Day polling location.   DEADLINE:  ALL Ballots must be received by the County Clerk's office no later than 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 – Election Day

This email confirms that you have successfully requested an Absentee Ballot for the 2020 General Election to be held on 11/3/2020.

Your request for an absentee ballot will be processed by your local county clerk.  As required by law, absentee ballots will be mailed out by the county clerk beginning 10/6/2020.   You may check the status of your absentee ballot application by visiting the New Mexico Voter Information Portal

If you selected a “Visually Impaired” as your Ballot Type, you will receive an email with a link to your electronic ballot when ballots are able to be delivered. This ballot option will allow you to mark your ballot using your preferred speech or screen enlargement technology. It is not a large print ballot and you will not receive a paper ballot in the mail. Please contact the Lincoln County Clerk if you have concerns or questions regarding this selection.
